wow this sounds so delish (& easy!). We’ve been making sangria with red wine, peaches, sprite, and peach cognac. It’s good, but this sounds way better!

what could be more rewarding than winning electronics (i mean..give me an Apple desktop to match my Macbook, some awesome bass speakers to pair up with my JBL creatures)? winning food! gosh u’re lucky. congrats wine-marinated fruit? sounds wicked. and so summery!

Can’t beat that win. Awesome job!

This reminds me of a watermelon “drink” we use to do in college. Basically cut a hole in a watermelon pour the nastiest highest proof booze (usually cheap vodka) in the hole. Seal it back up and roll it around for a couple hours. People swear you could not taste the alcohol but I always could then again after one watermelon you did not have the capicity to care.

I like this idea seems a lot safer and with great flavor.

Congrats on the win – and the Kobe prize! As soon as I can find a decent melon (sometime this weekend), I’m going to try this. Just the cure for all this heat and humidity. Right after reading this post, I saw this on Food Gawker, which I found ironically amusing.

What exactly do you do with pickled rind, anyway? (I’m sure you’ll tell all in a later post. )

Oh YEAH baby!!!!!! My mom used to drill a hole in a watermelon and invert a fifth of vodka into it. Also good. lol I think I like the sangria idea even better, though. Congrats on winning!!
